Amazing End to an Amazing Transfer!

Dear Family,

I don't think that I could have wished for a better end to an amazing transfer! Starší Price agrees. He says that the baptism for Denisa was amazing - probably the best he's been to - and I have to agree. I put up a few pictures from the baptism; I hope that you enjoy them.

The last few days before Saturday, we could see that Denisa was getting a little worried but we knew that she could do it and that she was strong enough to go through with it. I don't even know what I want to write about right now. That's a problem. Actually, Denisa's here with us right now! At the Internet Café!

"Já jsem moc šťastná že jsem byla pokřtěna od vašeho syna. Je dobrý misionařem." (I am very happy that I was baptized by your son. He is a good missionary.)
-Denisa Dávidová

At her baptism, there were lots and lots of people, mostly because there was a dance at the building in Brno (where we were having the baptism) a few hours after the baptism, but Denisa also made many new friends within the district. We had the baptismal service in the primary room because the chapel was already set up for the dance and the overflow was already set up as well. I was really nervous about the baptism because it was my first baptism, in Czech or in English!

Oh, I have a fun story to tell you. A few weeks ago when Denisa invited us over to her house so that she could feed us dinner, her member friend, who has become a really good friend of hers named Hanka Vaclavová (she's Slovak), came over to her house before we did so that she could help her make dinner. While they were together, they were having a really good time and just messing around. This was after Denisa had her baptisimal date. Then at one point, Hanka turns to Denisa really serious and says (in Czech or Slovak of course - I don't know which one they speak together because they're both Slovak), "Ya know, it's a good thing that you're pretty. Because when we baptize ugly people, we just drown them." Denisa knew it was a joke after being a little frightened by the thought and said, "Please convince the missionaries that I'm pretty!"

So back to the baptism, Denisa was telling me to not drown her. She kept that in the front of her mind, I think at least, to keep something funny in her mind because she was getting very nervous about her baptism. The dress that you see her wearing in the second and third photos that I attached (by the way, Denisa is reading how many times her name is in this email "Devět krát už" [nine times already]) is the wedding dress of one of the members in our branch here in Zlín. She gave it to Denisa for her baptism!

Anyway, when we did the baptism, I won't remember the baptism so much, but the joyful squeal thing she did when she got back in the room from the font with her friends I'll remember. She sounded so happy. It was awesome.

My time is running low, so I'll write some more quickly:

The transfer is officially over today! So I can't use the "I'm a greenie" excuse anymore. Elder Price is excited and not excited at the same time to be going home. I know who my new companions are for this next transfer. I'm staying here in Zlín and I'm going to be follow-up trained in a threesome. Yoohoo! My new companions are Elders Mills and Thompson. Elder Thompson is going to be the new District Leader. I'm very excited because I heard that they're both pretty musical. Elder Mills was at BYU and took some music classes - not sure if he was a major or what. He plays piano very well so it looks like I won't have to play violin in sacrament meeting anymore.

We were told who our next mission president is going to be and the funny thing is: I've already met him! He and his wife were missionaries here in the Czech Republic for a short while just a month or so ago. I met him I think twice for about two or so minutes each time. His name is President/Elder Irwin and I've heard from many of the other missionaries that he's going to be amazing. We're very blessed here.

Well, I must go. I love you all and hope that everything is well with you all. Hope you have many blessings, like I am right now.
